Innovative Leisure, a leading supplier of adventure attractions, installed 2 climbing attractions among installations completed in the past twelve months. Innovative Leisure put in a traversing wall at Stoneyburn Community Centre in Scotland and a DigiWall at Chamwell Centre in Gloucester.
The company’s attractions include adventure products like high and junior ropes courses, and a variety of climbing walls. “They provide a fun, challenging activity for a wide range of age groups and capabilities and have proved the perfect addition at both the Chamwell Centre and Stoneyburn Community Centre,” says Innovative Leisure’s Managing Director Phil Pickersgill.
DigiWall at The Chamwell Centre
Innovative Leisure installed a four-panel DigiWall at The Chamwell Centre, on the grounds of Milestone Special School in Gloucester. The centre is one of the UK’s largest special-needs schools, for children with disabilities and complex medical conditions. Situated in the centre’s Rebound therapy room, the interactive climbing wall measures 4.5 by 2.8 meters.
DigiWall is a stimulating combination of climbing wall and computer game. This attraction provides a physical activity and sensory experience by combining a traversing wall with touch-sensitive technology. Participants use their whole body, following lights and sounds on the wall in order to play 6 responsive multi-sensory games.
Traversing Wall at Stoneyburn Community Centre
Additionally, at the Stoneyburn Community Centre in Scotland, the company installed a sixteen-panel traversing wall with timer early last year. When the Community Centre underwent a renovation, they decided to add a climbing wall to the venue’s multi-use gymnasium. Appropriately, Innovative Leisure outfitted an unused wall in the gym’s hall, creating an all-ages traversing wall.
The 9.75-by-2.44-meter attraction features Innovative Leisure’s realistic fiberglass rocks affixed to modular climbing panels. Because the wall is fewer than 3 meters tall, no belay system or staff supervision is required. The system also incorporates a Climber Timer that records the time it takes participants to traverse the wall.
