Members of the Innovative Leisure team will be taking on a red hot challenge – quite literally – at the end of March when they participate in a charity firewalk event at BALPPA member ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure in Norwich.
More used to providing adventure based attractions for others to experience – including a double level Sky Trail high ropes course at Roarr! which opened in 2018 – on this occasion Innovative’s Emma Booth and Keith Finnegan will be taking on an adventurous challenge of their own during the Roarr-ing Firewalk event, which is being held by the charity Break in aid of vulnerable young people in the park’s local area.
Participants are set to undertake an hour of intense motivational training before taking the walk of their lives across burning hot ashes, an experience that will take them completely out of their comfort zone.
The idea behind the event is for participants to get a sense of the fear and adrenaline of taking on a personal challenge – something Break’s young people face every day. They have to take on huge challenges to forge ahead for a successful independent life, but without family or a support network to guide them – which is where Break is there to help. Supporting the Roarr-ing Firewalk, which takes place on Thursday, March 30, will help make this happen.
If you’d like to support the Emma and Keith in their challenge, feel free to contact them at the Innovative Leisure office (0116 271 3095 or emma.b@innovativeleisureco.uk) Or if you’d like to take part yourself in the event the registration cost is £10.00 per person, plus a small Eventbrite fee. This reserves your place at the event and helps cover Break’s costs to enable any funds raised to go to where they are needed most. Booking is essential as there are limited places for this event. Book your spot here.
Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £100.00 in sponsorship, in addition to the registration fee.
The park will be closed to the general public for the event, but spectators are welcome. There is a small fee of £2 per person which should be booked in advance from the Roarr! website www.roarr.co.uk
