Future Prospects for Expansion
The modular construction of Explorer ropes courses allows construction in many different configurations. This could be in double, triple or quad level formats and would incorporate a diverse range of challenging elements installed between platforms. The diagonal activity elements on Explorer are the longest in the Sky Trail family at 10m. The capacity of Explorer courses can be expanded further after installation with additional poles or extra levels, to a maximum of five. A perfect example of a course that has been expanded is Universe Science Park in Denmark, who added a complete 3rd level in 2022.
Below are the Sky Trail Explorer specification for standard course sizes, however, certain layouts offer more elements than listed and a higher capacity:
6 Pole Double Level Course 18 elements 25-person capacity
8 Pole Double Level Course 26 elements 35-person capacity
6 Pole Triple Level Course 27 elements 35-person capacity
8 Pole Triple Level Course 39 elements 50-person capacity
6 Pole Quad Level Course 36 elements 45-person capacity
Versatile High Ropes Option
Sky Trail Explorer ropes courses are versatile and suit a wide range of indoor and outdoor venues in all sectors. The multiple level course options allow participants to progress through each level starting with the lowest to build up their confidence before testing their nerve on elements up to 22 metres above the ground on the fifth level. A great example of this can be seen at The Bear Grylls Adventure close to the NEC Birmingham, which is currently Europe’s tallest free roaming high ropes course
Combine with a Junior Low Ropes Course and Zip Lines
Sky Tykes courses are scaled down versions of the main course just a metre off the ground and are aimed at 2-7 year-olds. Combining the Sky Trail Explorer ropes course with Sky Tykes allows the whole family to share a ropes course experience together. The perfect example of this can be seen at Tees Barrage White Water Centre where the Sky Tykes course sits alongside Europe’s tallest outdoor ropes course, a four-level Sky Trail Explorer standing seventeen metres high and also features Sky Rail.
